A belated congrats on the full launch Michelle! The site looks great, and I do love the popup member bubbles, as well as the smart link strategy. I'm going to send the site around to students of mine at CUNY this spring who launched CityGreens, a se…

Hi Jessica, here's another pair of suggestions of folks who might be able to help in some fashion with the program: David Chase, publisher of Sun Valley (ID) Online. David's email is dave@sunvalleyonline.com; phone (208) 578-4119. And here's more a…

Question: How to Improve Info Needs of Local Communities?

That's what Mark Glaser is asking in the IdeaLab blog, as part of an effort to gather info for a Knight Foundation Commission.

What he's after is this: What do you feel is missing in your own local community, when it comes to being informed, especia… Continue

CJR on entrepreneurial journalism, GlobalPost

FYI, Columbia Journalism Review just sent this along (although it appears only part of the package, on the launch of GlobalPost, is available online thus far):

But within is a great quote for today's journalist (at 1:32): "Amid the turmoil and confusion, the reporter must be able to think clearly and quickly." It's in reference to covering fire… Continue

Hey there Alan. Was just getting started with RJI News back in February as part of my class in beatblogging and social media for the J-school. To be honest, I haven't used it all that much yet. What have you found it most helpful for?
