Hi and welcome. I enjoyed that link although a few things didn't jibe -- for example, Wordpress.com doesn't let you sell your own ads, and I thought it was a little funky that the page views question didn't elicit a real answer.

Introducing BakersfieldExpress.org

BakersfieldExpress.org, the brand new (soon to be nonprofit) community news website in Bakersfield, Calif., launched Monday morning. It focuses on quality of life issues, arts and culture, green living and nonprofits and volunteering. After just three days, we already we have more than 50 registered users! It's been a very exciting launch, but now it feels like the REAL hard work begins. It's now a full-time job instead of something fun to talk about.

Non-profit vs. for-profit

As I take my first steps toward creating a niche community Web site, I am facing a dilemma which I'm hoping you all can help me sort out. I ultimately want my site to be nonprofit, in order to truly be a public service rather than an advertising-driven business. Brand new to the Collaboratory

After feeling alone in unemployment land and dreaming of possibilities, I'm glad to now be a part of this online community.
