What kind of org do you work for?

What do you do?

What strengths/expertise do you have to offer?

I've been an investigative reporter for 25 years and have been exploring (and using) new media tools since the mid-90s.

What kind of help/insight do you hope to get from this community?

I hope to join in the conversation about what works, what doesn't and what could be done better in using new media to do our job better.

I think we should use the RJI Collaboratory incubator to develop:

Building blocks for geographic- or topic-based local Web news sites, Business assessment tools for local Web news sites, News apps and widgets, Ways to send mobile alerts via content management systems, Twitter as tool for news sites to channel local business, Clearinghouse of experts to help launch new services
