Andria - By no means are we a "juggernaut," but we do work hard to serve our community well. Regarding your question about Ads - we create most (I'd say 90%) of all Ads that run on our site. We retain copyright to these unless otherwise specified…

Great blog. I would love to learn how you funded your site - did you bootstrap it? How do you handle sponsorships and advertising? Who did your site design? I think we should have a conference for independent journalists to get together and learn about these thing during a weekend. Do you know of anything like that or should I get one started? San Antonio is a lovely place for a conference.

Scott, welcome to the Collaboratory! Congrats on the great readership on The B-Town Blog; sounds like we can learn as much from you as you can learn from us. And we'd love to help out, so let us know if you have specific problems or issues the community can weigh in on.

In the meantime, to make it easier to get around the network, we've got a "How We're Using This Site" page that provides more detail on the different areas of the Collaboratory and the ways to make best use of them to not only share ideas, but to get projects up and running.

And you can keep track of latest activities on the network by visiting the What's New page.

Anyway, poke around a bit and if you don't see the conversation you want to have or the project you think matters, feel free to start it.

Thanks for joining us! Adam Glenn on behalf of the RJI Collaboratory
